ChexSystems does not collect medical or employment data. ChexSystems does not use or disclose Personal Information for direct marketing purposes.

When you interact with ChexSystems by calling our Consumer Relations FCRA hotline, using our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone line, or visiting our website and using functionality found there, we collect information to help identify and authenticate you, and to maintain maximum possible accuracy.

ChexSystems does not collect Personal Information directly from you without your knowledge. You may be requested to provide the following information, including, but not limited to your contact and identity information such as name, address, prior address, social security number, date of birth, telephone number, driver’s license number, and/or email address.

We may also collect your personal information from others, such as financial institutions, consumer reporting agencies including the credit bureaus, financial services companies, governmental agencies, collection agencies, data brokers, data resellers, public internet domains, and/or ChexSystems affiliates. Personal Information is disclosed to ChexSystems as a consumer reporting agency pursuant to the GLBA, the FCRA and, in some circumstances, purposes allowed by the federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), as well as applicable state law equivalents, if any.

We use Personal Information for commercial and business purposes, including:

• To verify your identity;
• To help you exercise your rights under the law, to satisfy your requests, and/or provide you the requested product or service;
• To send you important updates regarding your requests;
• To provide our products and services to third parties as permitted by applicable laws, including the FCRA, GLBA, and DPPA;
• To meet legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.

ChexSystems also uses de-identified or anonymized data (that is, information that has been gathered but has the Personal Information removed) to perform data analytics services.

This Policy also covers information we collect in connection with your subscription to and use of OnAlert. Personal Information provided in connection with OnAlert may be collected automatically or directly from you, or from third party sources, when you interact with OnAlert as set forth in more detail below in the OnAlert Subscribers – Policy Supplement.

OnAlert is intended for adults over the age of eighteen (18). If you subscribe to OnAlert, this Policy is supplemented by the OnAlert Terms and Conditions of Service (the “OnAlert TCS”) which incorporates the privacy policy of our third party service provider, CSIdentity Corporation. In our provision of OnAlert to you, the Personal Information we collect depends on how you interact with us and the features and functionality you leverage or services and products you subscribe to. As mentioned earlier in this Policy and the OnAlert TCS, we or our third party service providers, including but not limited to CSIdentity Corporation (for purposes of the OnAlert Subscribers – Privacy Supplement, collectively, “we”) collect personal information from third party sources, and also directly from you through our websites, and may collect Personal Information about you through our Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and/or mobile apps, including when you contact our OnAlert Customer Care team in order to provide you with the products and services.

In addition, when you subscribe to or add a product or service to OnAlert, we will collect information from or about you; for example, (i) your contact and identification information, including your name, address, date of birth, driver’s license number, social security number, phone numbers, and/or email address(es) (which we, for example, use to verify your identity and allow you to use features and functionality included in OnAlert); (ii) details about your financial or other accounts, including login and password information; (iii) your credit card or payment account information when you purchase an OnAlert subscription; (iv) your children’s personal information when enrolling your children in a child identity protection product (including their name, social security number, and date of birth); and (v) any other information you provide or make available to us (for example, through OnAlert Customer Care for customer service, a fraud resolution agent, or when you provide any feedback).

When OnAlert has Personal Information about you, we may use it in the following ways:

• For the purposes outlined in this Policy or which has otherwise been disclosed to you (for example, when you request we provide your information to monitor certain activities and accounts).
• To verify your identity and provide you with OnAlert and the features and functionality you request (for example, to access and monitor information you have asked for and provide you with identity theft monitoring).
• To provide and operate the services;
• To personalize the services (including by establishing and maintaining your account on the service or enabling security features on the service);
• To send various types of communications, including but not limited to alerts related to identity protection, credit, ChexSystems, score, and transactions to you via email, telephone or mobile device number you provide.
• To send you information related to your account, our website, the OnAlert TCS, or our policies.
• To process payments for OnAlert or any other products or services we offer that you choose to subscribe to.
• To verify your children’s identity and provide child monitoring products and services, if applicable.
• For other business purposes, including compliance, rights enforcement, audits, security, detecting and preventing fraud or other unlawful or unauthorized conduct, analysis, product and business improvements, research, and development.

We share Personal Information about you with third parties who perform services on our behalf in order to provide you with OnAlert. We share your Personal Information in order to provide you with the features and functionality you request and for everyday business purposes.
